A great little project to keep the wheels turning.
We were tasked to demolish a row of garages, pram shed, pedestrian walkway canopy along with the tarmac and concrete base on behalf of Lewisham homes. Working closely with the local community, we broke up our operating times during school hours and other busier times throughout the day to reduce the disruption, noise, dust and vibration as far as reasonably practicable.
The canopy proved to be slightly tricky as it was inset into the flat block adjacent to the garages, however after minor repairs were carried out on the wall to reinstate it, it looked good as new. After securing the site by installing blanking plates to the rear fence where the canopy used to be, the hoarding was then installed to fully secure the site ready for the next stage of development.
However that is not all…..
We were then asked to return due to the discovery of an unmarked gas pipe within the site. After spending the day tracing the pipe throughout the site, it was confirmed to be a redundant gas pipe… phew!
