About Us

As a fourth generation family owned and managed company, Syd Bishop & Sons have forged a long standing reputation as a professional and reliable business giving the utmost attention to customer satisfaction and carrying out all works with due concern to health, safety and the environment.

This was the ethos of Mr. Sydney Bishop; an experienced demolition expert who, in 1929 founded Syd Bishop & Sons (Demolition) Ltd and the famous slogan ‘Watch it Come Down’. Working from his home and front garden in Bromley, Kent, Syd built up a fine reputation. He later took on his sons to help with the business, subsequently moving to the present Head Office location in Orpington in 1970.

In 2004 we acquired ownership of Pinden Ltd, specialists in waste management and one of the largest recycling operations in London. We have recently formed Walden Engineering that specialise in Civil, Structural and Temporary works engineering. This enables Syd Bishop & Sons to offer a total solution for your project by being able to undertake the Temporary Works, Asbestos, Demolition, Waste Management and Civils.

As well as boasting an excellent health and safety record, we provide regular and on-going training for all our staff with a keen focus on health and safety standards. We are fully accredited by all relevant associations, including the National Federation of Demolition Contractors (NFDC).

We are not restricted by location and are able to offer our services not only to London and the South of England but UK wide.
