Longbridge Way Nursery
- Location
- Longbridge Way, Lewisham
- Client
- Lewisham Homes
On this project we were tasked to demolish the old nursery building which had become victim to vandalism and squatters, to ground level ready for redevelopment by Lewisham Homes.
Prior to the demolition, we had already visited site to board up the nursery to prevent any further damage or access prior to demolition.
The project was fairly simple, however with access being limited it became interesting. With the help of United living who are also working in partnership with Lewisham Homes on the neighbouring site, we were able to improve site access enabling us to remove arisings with ease.
Hoarding was then installed along with some minor works to secure the site ready for the next stage of redevelopment.
Scope of Works:
- Improve site access
- Demolition of the main nursery building and two ancillary buildings
- Environmental clean
- Asbestos removal
- Hoarding installation
- Secure site
- Charity Donation
To top off a great little project, we created a new partnership with a local charity, Lewisham Local. From this we was able to donate a permanent canopy for their Wild Cat Wilderness located in Catford. Once erected, this will then be used to keep the children and community volunteers dry during the wet months ahead. It was an absolute pleasure and we look forward to improving this partnership further in the future.
