AMEX House was located a short distance from Brighton sea-front it was the old American Express Headquarters, built in 1969 and standing 46m high.
Our experienced team worked closely with the client during the pre-construction phase and highlighted constraints involved with the desired demolition methodology, due to the complexity of the structures design. Working in partnership with the client and their representatives, a positive compromise was devised, to demolish the building using a 60m high reach demolition excavator.
The scope of works was extensive, detailing a full soft strip operation, asbestos removal, temporary works installations, and High Reach Demolition. The project also involved construction works to build a public walkway and staircase along with the installation of multiple seating areas for public use.
